The after hours were huge; late nights in the office, weekends seeing people but now my weekends are free, and have a lot more free time with the grandchildren. We’ve upgraded the website and were we used to get one lead a month; we now receive 10 – 20 solid leads coming through.

I’ve just hired in the last couple of months a performance/project manager. Essentially, half of the business onsite is now sorted. I’m training up another foreman in-house at the moment trying to get the other half up and running.

A lot has changed in the last 12 months; I’m a totally different person. My confidence is high now because I actually see positive results. In the start I was competing against the bigger guys and losing jobs. But now I’m winning those, my confidence has picked up.

I’ve landed an $800,000 new build and recently started landing the $300,000 and above renovations which is pretty big for me.

My goal for the next year is just to increase my revenue, up to the 3-5 million mark. I think that’s realistic with the employees we have at the moment and new systems in place.

I’ve got a marketing guy on board full-time and we have another marketing student. After a lot of planning we went to the Waitakere home show and it was really good. We had heaps of feedback and generated about 70 leads from the show. It gave us a chance to implement our new BuilderTREND system that has made lead management really easy.”

“We started in 2010 and after a slow start have 10 employees now and are looking to continue growing.

Systems are one of the biggest things that Marti helped us through. I pretty much had no systems and we were just swimming in a pond of oil. So now everything is done as it should and is structured. A lead will come in and it’ll get processed. Every job now has proper project management and tracking. This is making a huge difference.

What I’ve learnt is about the importance of having systems and processes recorded. That means I don’t have to do it all myself, other people can easily see what needs to be done. The key thing is that we don’t need to do it all overnight, we are doing a little bit every week, until we’ve got our nice big fat folder of systems and processes.”

”I have been working with Marti for now 6 months and I have learnt so much from him.

In our last financial year we got about $800,000 of work just through word-of-mouth. Which was quite average compared to the amount I got implementing Google Adwords. Just from the sales system we have implemented, from January to basically the middle of March, we gathered through $2.8 million of leads. So, out of that $2.8 so far, we’ve converted about $600,000. I’m 100% confident on locking in on a $800,000 job in a couple of weeks time. I’ve got 2-3 more jobs around 80% to 90% about to convert as well, and those equal out to roughly around $500,000 to $600,000 of work.

Just setting that foundation and learning the knowledge from Marti has helped us grow rapidly. We just need to make sure that all our procedures, and our systems, are pretty much locked down before we can take on even bigger Jobs.

My thought process from the time I jumped onboard with Marti, has completely changed It’s like I’m a totally different person to what I was 12 months ago in terms of my thinking.
